The Amanda Show
Cast
Amanda Bynes: You got to know her as the world’s least sensitive advice-giver, Ashley, and one half of the highly excitable Whateverrr Girls on “All That,” but now 13-year-old Amanda Bynes has got her own show! An actress and comedian since the age of seven, early on in her career Amanda was coached in comedy by stand-up superheroes like Richard Pryor and Arsenio Hall. Since then she’s cracked-up Nick fans on “All That,” hit the road with the All That Music and More Festival in the summer of ‘99, and sharpened her dramatic skills as a guest star on the HBO series “Arli$$.” She may be a master of many talents, but when it comes to sketch comedy, Ms. Bynes will take you to school! |
Drake Bell: At 13, Drake Bell is already a veteran actor who has appeared in seven films, including “The Neon Bible,” “The Drifting School,” and “Jerry Maguire.” When he was 12, the experience of co-starring in the film “Changing Destiny” with Roger Daltrey of the band The Who inspired Drake to start his own band, 24/7, which plans to record its first album soon. Drake recently appeared in TWO films with John Cusack, “The Jack Bull” and “High Fidelity,” and has guest-starred on a whole bunch of TV shows, including “Seinfeld,” “The Drew Carey Show,” and “Home Improvement.” When he’s not on the set, Drake spends his free time helping kids who are less fortunate through organizations like Audrey Hepburn’s Children’s Foundation and World Mission. |
| Raquel Lee: A Los Angeles native, 13-year-old Raquel has plenty of experience working with a large group of actors–she’s the youngest of five children! Raquel’s been acting since she was nine years old, and has appeared in several national commercials and TV shows, including “Malcolm and Eddie” and “The Magic Hour.” When she’s not acting, Raquel likes writing, singing, dancing and swimming, as well as all the usual teenage activities like going to the movies, hanging out at the mall and talking on the phone. |
Josh Peck: Josh Peck’s not even out of his teens yet, but he’s already racked up an impressive resume of TV, film and stand-up stints that any Hollywood vet would be proud of. This New York City boy began his entertainment career doing stand-up comedy at famous Manhattan clubs at the tender age of 9. Appearances on “The Rosie O’Donnel Show” and “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” followed. Before joining the cast of “The Amanda Show,” Josh made his feature film debut in Nickelodeon’s “Snow Day” in 2000. |
Nancy Sullivan: It’s a good thing Nancy Sullivan has always considered herself a character actress like her heroes Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball and Tracy Ullman, because she sure plays a lot of wacky characters on “The Amanda Show”! Nancy got her start singing, dancing and acting in college and summer stock performances, which led to a whole slew of roles in films and TV shows, including the movie “The Deep End of the Ocean” and series like “Beverly Hills 90210,” “Melrose Place” and “The Pretender” and the soap opera “One Life to Live.” Nancy sharpened her sketch comedy skills as a regular on “The Newz,” and proved she could tackle live TV as a co-host of “Game TV” on Sony’s Game Show Network. |
| John Kassir: If Johnny Kassir sounds familiar, it’s probably because he supplied the voices for characters in the animated films “Pocahantas” and “Casper.” You may also recognize him from his own kids’ TV series on the USA Network, “Johnnytime.” Or maybe you even remember him as the voice of the Crypt Keeper from “Tales From the Crypt.” If you didn’t catch him in any of those productions, there’s a good chance you’ve seen Johnny in one of his many TV appearances, on shows including “The Single Guy,” “FM,” and “First and Ten.” Johnny got his start in off-Broadway theater, and once beat both Rosie O’Donnell and Sinbad in the Stand-up category on “Star Search”! In addition to doing all sorts of character voices, Johnny’s talents include puppetry, juggling, magic and horseback riding. |
