The everyday life of Arnold, a 4th-grader in a nameless city that resembles Brooklyn, who lives in a multi-racial boarding house with his grandparents and a motley assortment of neighbors and friends.

Characters

Arnold: Arnold is just your typical nine-year-old fourth-grade kid. Arnold has his fair share of problems (especially Helga!), but he always seems to have the answer.

Gerald: Gerald is Arnold’s best friend - which usually means he’s there when anything is going down involving Arnold. Gerald has more in common with Arnold that just their sound-a-like names. They’re best buddies and Gerald always has Arnolds back. Gerald is also the master of all the Urban Legends.

Helga: Helga “runs” PS 118 as the rude, obnoxious girl at the school. Helgas a bit mixed up, one minute she wants to hug Arnold, the next she wants to punch his lights out. Helga has a secret crush in which she never really gets to tell Arnold other than in dreams of hers.

Phoebe: Phoebe is the smartest girl around, however she’s also Helga’s (only) best friend.

Rhonda: Rhonda is always up to the hottest fashion trends and is always up for the most expensive trips to Aspen. Money is everything to Rhonda, without it she wouldn’t be able to live more than a week without going crazy.

Harold: Sid could probably be called as Geralds “lead-in” man for Gerald, when Gerald is going to tell one of the many Urban Legends Sid often introduces him.

Stinky: Stinky is best known for two things: his Southern style, and his constant use of the word “bites”.

Eugene: Not only is Eugene is the biggest geek at PS 118 but he’s also the biggest bad luck charm in all of the city! Whenever you see Eugene you know something bad is going to happen.

Grandpa (Phil): Arnold’s grandfather (and Miles’s father) Phil runs the Sunset Arms boarding house, assuming he can get the boarders to pay the rent, which is no guarantee when you remember that, with the possible exception of Mr. Smith, none of these people apparently make enough money to be able to live anywhere where they have their own bathroom!

Grandma (Gertrude / “Pookie”): How is this crazy lady related to Arnold in any way and how did Phil fall in love with her? With a name such as ‘Pookie’ you know she is crazy! She some how knows selve defense and loves to leap from building to building saving cats…

Oskar: Oskar’s only job appears to be spending Suzie’s money, and he’s pretty good at that. He’s pretty selfish and only thinking of his self, it’s still a question how and why Suzie still loves him!

Suzie: Oskar’s one and only wife. Oskar should be more thankful of his wife, she such a caring, sweet, and patient wife. She only asks for him to do simple tasks when even then he doesn’t.

Ernie: Ernie runs a wrecking crane for a demolition company, with knocking down over five-hundred buildings he’s not new to the business. He feels his business is an important part and even once took Arnold to one of his demolitions; Ernie also keeps a piece of each wrecking in his room.

Mr. Hyunh: Mr. Hyunh came from Vietnam to look for his daughter whom was sent over from Vietnam over 20 years ago. Mr. Hyunh works at the “El Patio” restaurant where he left for his short fame as a country singer of which he later ended to go back to the “El Patio” restaurant.

Mr. (Marty) Green: Mr. Green runs his own butcher shop, “Green’s Meats” (also called “Green Meats”). Even despite all the pot holes in the city, and a butcher shop to manage he even ran and won to become a city councilman.

Curly (Thaddeus Gammelthorpe): Despite his name, his hair is no.. not Curly; it’s actually Black and flat.

Brainy: Brainy is well.. not Brainy. You better think before you speak our he might be weezing behind your back hearing your deepest darkest secrets about your love…

Mrs. Vitello: Mrs. Vitello runs the neighborhood flower shop and can be a bit cranky at times as all old women can!

Big Bob : Helga’s father, the “Beeper King”, and owner of “Big Bob’s Beepers”, Big Bob is proud of his daughter - his first daughter, Olga, whose trophies and pictures line the walls, much unlike Helga. He could care less about Helga, or even care to remember her name.
