Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Characters (1999)
Tucker: Tucker was once the youngest Midnight Society member, but he’s now taken over for his older brother as President of the group. Tucker’s less of a stickler for the rules than his brother was, and he wants to have more fun with the meetings. Still, he respects the history of the Midnight Society and carries on its traditions. Tucker’s stories are usually exciting, action-packed or full of adventure. |
Vange: Vange (short for Evangeline) is a tomboy and mischief-maker who isn’t afraid to say exactly what’s on her mind. She bugs the others, but usually gets away with it because she’s the youngest–and probably the toughest. She’s an active kid who is always in hyper-drive. Vange’s stories always include some elements of mischief and fun. |
Megan: Megan hates being in the woods and would much prefer the Midnight Society meetings be held somewhere comfortable–like her well-groomed backyard. She directs the redecorating of the campfire circle by having the others bring in old stuffed chairs and sofas. Megan is the most refined member of the group, but her stories are the creepiest and most ghoulish of them of all. |
Andy: Andy is a big goof of a guy who looks mean, but is really as gentle as a kitten. He lives on a farm where he works before and after school. He’s an easy target for Vange and Quinn, who make fun of him for having more muscle than brains, but Andy takes their teasing in stride. In spite of his size, Andy has the most gentle soul of the group and his stories are always emotionally charged. |
Quinn: Quinn is a street-smart kid who always has some kind of scam going on. Always looking out for number one, he’s quick on his feet and quick to take advantage of the others. Quinn is always getting into trouble in school and at home, but he’s smart enough to get himself out of almost anything. As much as he makes fun of the others, being in the Midnight Society means a lot to him, because he belongs. His stories are usually dark, urban tales full of danger. |
